For those of you unfamiliar with Larry Salazar of Sal's Customs, he is re-known for his awesome customs - with his use of House of Color paints and a steady hand, Sal is able to create some of the most beautiful works of art in automotive design.
His entries in such events as the Hot Wheels Convention held by the Hot Wheels Newsletter have gained national recognition and numerous awards. He placed 1st in the Spicy category in the 1998 30th Anniversary Hot Wheels Convention held in Anaheim (a creation so fabulous that Brian just had to buy for our personal collection).
Entering more customs in the 1999 Hot Wheels Convention, Larry stole the show. His creations won 2 of the 4 designer awards - from Ira Gilford and Michael Heralda (Mattel Graphics designer).
The convention also had 3 categories - Mild, Spicy & Hot. Of the 9 finalists in the Mild category, 7 were Larry's - an incredible number. And of the finalists, Larry's creations won both the first and second place awards. This was in addition to his cars which won 1st place in the Spicy and 1st place in the Hot categories.
Just take a look at the cars below and you'll know why his cars are some of the most sought after customs around ...
